Pop icon and beauty maven Rihanna recently spoke out about her plans to have children in the next few years, even if she doesn’t have a husband or partner
Revealing that she hopes to have three or four children, she doesn’t plan on letting single hood get in her way on her path to motherhood.
The 32-year-old entrepreneur and singer has been working on her ninth album, and spoke about her plans to build a family in an interview. She said that all you need to successfully raise a child is ‘love,’ and that in 10 years, she’ll “have kids – three or four of them.”
She isn’t the only pop star to open up about her plans to have a child on her own – Cheryl recently revealed that she is seeking donor sperm to have more kids. Cheryl, the former Girls Aloud star and reality TV judge, already has a 3-year-old son called Bear with her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne.
In her interview with British Vogue, Rihanna said the only thing needed to raise a child “is love”
Earlier this year, Rihanna split up with Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel, her long-term boyfriend. But that isn’t stopping her from having a family. She said, “I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong.’ They diminish you as a mother (if) there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child.
Rihanna appears on the cover of British Vogue’s May issue, speaking all about her upcoming album, which she says will be heavily influenced by reggae. The star, born in Barbados but now based in London, said of her new music, “I don’t want all my albums to feel like themes. There are no rules, there’s no format, there’s nothing. There’s just good music and if I feel it, I’m putting it out.”
“I feel like I have no boundaries. I’ve done everything. I’ve done all the hits, I’ve tried every genre. Now I’m just, I’m wide open. I can make anything that I want.”
